After a blistering finale, in which Therese had to compete against Japanese title defender Orie Hida, Therese won her third world title today. Unbeaten during the entire tournament.
For a long time it looked like the two top billard players were going to keep each other at the same level. Therese started strong and raced to 14-11. Orie came back cold-blooded and brought the score to 14-14. Then 17-17, followed by a period in which Therese kept her head cool. She built up a lead in a very professional way and the score was 27-20.
The game eventually ended in 30-24 (in 30 innings).
In the preliminary rounds, Therese succeeded in defeating Karakasli (25-23 in 31 innings), Mitterböck (25-13 in 29 innings), and Castillo (25-12 in 28 innings). In the quarterfinals, Fendi was defeated (30-16 in 30 innings) and in the semi-final Degener (30-22 in 38 innings).
